SEPT HDLA (Your Kei) WEEKEND

Yes I'm barely uploading this in October, I've been a busy woman guys

Last month's harajuku day LA theme was "Your Kei" so we all had to make up our own styles. I never go on theme anymore really but I thought that was cool one. Sarina had already coordinated a yume ship themed day so that's what we all did. Ofc I had to get started on ideas for another Tsukishima CO*DE and I really wanted it to be different this time. I made the tshirt I already had into a D.I.A. style tube top with arm sleeves, I wish I had zebra leg warmers to go with the sleeves it came out better than expected (ty to the punk on tiktok who posted a quick no sew tube top tutorial)

Sarina came over to stay at my place for the weekend for the first time which was exciting (usually i go to her place) She came very early Friday morning while I was working on the top. We ended up going out around Korea Town. The plan was to go to dead stock stores but they were all really lame that day as well as a few of the mallsWe went to Daiso cause Sarina wanted a new foldable mirror. Then I took her to go try Paris Baguette which is a popular Korean bakery chain, we have as many of those as Starbucks in KTown lol I got a dubai chocolate donut which was good but tbh I do not understand the magnitude of the dubai chocolate hype. Like its good but not the best chocolate in existence like social media makes it out to be. 

After that we walked over to Shibuya LA and they had so much good things in store that day!!!! They had the HK Heisei retro collection it took everything in me not to buy things. I got some stickers but I really wanted one of the fairy or mermaid plushies and the shibuya girl hks were very cute tooSarina saw another foldable mirror but this time it was pink so she decided to get that. She bought some other stuff but I can't remember off the top of my head. We passed by the Gaylord on the way to my house because Sarina really wanted to see it, there was this cool Demon Slayer ad directly across from it (no I got no pics on Friday of anything unfortunately, I did not have the blog in mind in the moment sorry)

We went back to my place and we played dolls with our blue lock plushies... yes at our big age of 20 and 21 because we are silly and whimsical. I kept a handful of doll furniture and I have a few disney princess castles and dolls but ofc it was about Kaiser and Ness igand Tenna for some reason. Sarina decided on the scenario of Ness living in the big castle as the princess.... with Tenna. Kaiser took him out on a date to the tea house, Darth Vader, Goku, and Tenna were workers?? at the tea house? and for some reason there was a whole ass living room in the tea house and a sleigh...Idk Sarina has a way with interior design ig. 

When we were done with that I made the sleeves to go with the top for my Tsukki CO*DE and Sarina watched. After that I put my whole CO*DE together because I usually do that the night before I go out, I can never plan it ahead because I feel like my ideas always change. 

Next day we got up at 8ish to get ready I hate waking up early but damn I had to because I was gonna suji my hair and Sarina always wakes up that early. We headed out early though DTLA traffic was horrid. We got to HDLA, I bought nothing all day... I couldn't believe it myself tbh. I met Sarina's tenna yumeship twin Ena she was super cool and really tall?? She had jirai platorms which made them sm taller!!! And I saw Lauren ofc I hadn't seen her in a hot minuteand Jorge too!! I helped Lauren fix up her ita bag because Sarina made her buttons of her yumeship man LawrenceWe saw Ivan and Marc and they took cool pics of us as always (i'm always so greatful)

Then we filled out our "Your Kei" sheets. I got excited that they were taking polaroids!! I feel like i don't take enough of those. We took the HDLA group photo and ran into Shirlee. We went back to the "Your Kei" both and I chatted with Shirlee while she filled hers out. Ivanna joined us to atp and was also filling out a sheet. I decide to decorate mine.

We eventually went to the village and I finally got to try Mitsuru I had the red bean cake and thai tea ice cream. The red bean cake kinda tasted like a pancake it was so good... I want another so bad rnI also had a meat bun yumyum! We went to the gal machine to take purikura then to Weller Court to take more!! We were over there for a hot minute!!! I took so many for the first time in a while. I mostly used the "OH MY GIRL" aka the busted $4 machine because 1) its cheaper 2) it doesn't make me look like an alien

I keep my purikura in photo albums kinda the same way gyaru did in the early heisei era. I have my own spin on it where I like to do it in more of a scarp book form. Here are the pages I made for this day, I'm super proud of them. (I can make an entry documenting my first album and what I have so far in my second one if yall want)

Also we went to Sanrio and took a pic with this melo because Tsukishima's sanrio character is My Melody and his favorite food is strawberry shortcake and she has a strawberry fit

We went with Ivanna to go get her sweet treat before going off to a family party. Admittedly I was nervous to show up to my family function in full OTT gyaru and bringing a friend who is also in OTT gyaru. Like some members of my family know about me dressing up crazy but most of them perceive it as cosplay/ "comic con stuff" rather than actual fashion but others already picked up that this is just how I dress. I'm just glad it was not awkward and rather fun, Sarina said she had a good time. It was kinda funny we were comparing Salvadorian and Mexican parties, apparently my family ends parties early lol RIP to Lauren not making it to the party... we missed you and ate tacos, cake, and played dolls in your honor

Thats basically everything from that weekend! It was super fun especially since HDLA was the busiest its been all year this past month, I can't wait for V Kei day

Before I end this entry I did want to say thank you to everyone I saw that day it was amazing but tysm for all of the love an support irl I got to see Aya and she said something that really stuck with me and I'm still thinking about it. She was wondering why I've been offline so much and was worried about me and decided to check up on me irl which is very sweet, I'm coming to realize a handful of people have no idea whats up with me. I told her I just needed a break from IG for my mental health and explained the reasoning for my hiatus and said its sad people in my community will treat others the way they do and with constant negativity how can anyone be content. To take my break and do come back because she enjoys seeing me post. But what really stuck out was that she told me people who have that much hate and bitterness in them are just taking out their jealousy on me and others, I agree. Sometimes you know things to be a fact already but don't take it to heart until someone else tells you the same, its a form of reassurance. I've been feeling better ever since my encounter with Aya, she's always been such a positive and radiant person in the IRL comm I'm so grateful, tysm Aya! I've gained my confidence back but now I'm just genuinely busy with work and school so no IG for nowbut I plan to start opening the app soon and warm up to posting again eventually.
